Thinking of bringing home India's ultra-practical family electric scooter anytime soon? You might have to shell out a bit more cash as Ather Energy has silently increased the prices of the mega-popular Rizta line-up across the country.

Effective from June 1, 2026, this sudden price revision impacts every single variant on offer. While the hike itself is relatively modest, it remains a crucial update for middle-class buyers calculating their strict monthly EMIs.

Ather Rizta Price Hike: What Has Changed?

The Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer has implemented a flat price bump ranging between ₹3,000 and ₹4,000 depending entirely on the chosen trim. The primary driving factor behind this silent upward revision is cited as consistently rising raw material and overall production costs.

This update comes right on the heels of the scooter celebrating a massive milestone, crossing over 3 lakh unit sales within just two years of its official launch. The Rizta has become the undisputed crown jewel for the brand, making up a staggering 76 percent of Ather's total sales volume in the 2026 fiscal year.

New Variant-Wise Price Breakdown

The updated ex-showroom pricing structure now spreads out across a broader spectrum. Here is the official variant-wise breakdown for the revised lineup:

  • Rizta S (2.9 kWh): ₹1,21,046 (Increased by ₹3,000)
  • Rizta Z (2.9 kWh): ₹1,39,045 (Increased by ₹4,000)
  • Rizta S (3.7 kWh): ₹1,43,547 (Increased by ₹4,000)
  • Rizta Z (3.7 kWh): ₹1,59,046 (Increased by ₹4,000)

Key Features & Practical Family Utility

Despite the slightly heavier price tag, the Rizta retains its title as the most spacious and utilitarian family scooter in the Indian EV space. It explicitly targets practical commuters looking to transition away from traditional petrol heavyweights like the Honda Activa.

  • XXL Comfort: Features the largest mono-seat in the segment coupled with an incredibly wide and flat floorboard space.
  • Unmatched Storage: Delivers a whopping 56 liters of total storage capacity, including a 34-liter main under-seat trunk and an optional 22-liter front frunk.
  • Advanced Tech Suite: Outfitted with an intuitive 7-inch display running Atherstack 7, offering multi-language dashboards, live location sharing, and over-the-air updates.

Specifications: Battery, Range, and Performance

Mechanically, everything stays identical to the previous version, ensuring the legendary Ather reliability remains intact. The scooter is powered by a robust 4.3 kW motor that churns out 22 Nm of peak torque.

  • Top Speed: Capped at a safe yet punchy 80 kmph, which is perfect for both city gridlocks and suburban highways.
  • 2.9 kWh Battery Variants: Delivers a solid certified IDC range of 123 km (around 105 km true range).
  • 3.7 kWh Battery Variants: Delivers a massive certified IDC range of 159 km (around 125 km true range).
  • Safety Electronics: Features next-gen SkidControl (traction control), Fall Safe tech, and emergency stop signal systems.

Pricing and Market Launch Impact

The updated prices are now live at all authorized showrooms and digital booking platforms across India. Existing bookings done before the June deadline are likely protected, but new walk-ins must absorb the updated costs.

The premium Z 3.7 kWh trim now pushes deeper into premium electric territory, directly challenging the likes of the TVS iQube ST and Bajaj Chetak Premium. However, the continuous introduction of regional language support like Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on the cluster continues to widen its pan-India appeal.

AkulRide Verdict: Is It Still Worth Buying?

Yes, the Ather Rizta remains an absolute no-brainer for the modern Indian family. A marginal price hike of up to ₹4,000 does not dilute the sheer value proposition of its cavernous storage, top-tier build quality, and class-leading safety features.

If you prioritize rock-solid software stability, immense riding comfort, and lower running costs over absolute sporty performance, the Rizta is still the king of its segment. The extra premium is a small price to pay for what is arguably the most complete electric family scooter on sale today.
