BMW Motorrad Motorsport concluded its 2026 FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) campaign at the season finale in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. The weekend marked the final competitive appearance for Italian rider Danilo Petrucci aboard the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team BMW M 1000 RR.

Jerez Race Weekend Performance

The Jerez finale presented competitive hurdles for the BMW squad across all three races. Miguel Oliveira suffered a technical retirement in Saturday's Race 1, followed by an 11th-place finish in the Sunday morning Superpole Race. Oliveira secured a 10th-place finish in Race 2, delivering the points required to lock in third place for BMW in the Manufacturers' World Championship.

Roster Transition and Technical Outlook

BMW Motorrad Motorsport confirmed that its 2027 rider lineup will pair Miguel Oliveira with new signing Brad Binder. Management acknowledged that the 2026 campaign faced significant disruption due to serious injuries sustained by both factory riders during the season.

According to Technical Director Christian Gonschor, development insights gained from the 2026 campaign will inform preparations for 2027, which will feature a new bike and updated championship technical regulations. Pricing is not stated in the official announcement.

AkulRide Verdict

BMW Motorrad Motorsport salvaged a top-three finish in the 2026 Manufacturers' Championship despite an injury-hit season. With Danilo Petrucci departing and Brad Binder joining Miguel Oliveira for the upcoming campaign, the team shifts its resources toward the forthcoming 2027 regulation cycle and machine updates.
