Ford has announced the new 2027 Mustang Mach-E Trail in Canada, introducing a factory-built adventure package designed for gravel roads, dirt trails, and changing weather conditions. Starting at $48,995 CAD for the Select AWD model before destination and delivery, the 2027 lineup also makes the extended-range battery standard across all trims.

The Mustang Mach-E Trail package builds upon the Select eAWD trim with specially tuned suspension featuring passive front and rear struts and springs. This hardware increases ride height over standard Select and Premium models by 10 mm in the front and 15 mm in the rear, providing improved clearance for unpaved excursions.

Chassis and Hardware Upgrades

Drawing directly from the Mustang Mach-E Rally, the Trail package incorporates performance-oriented components tailored for loose surfaces:

  • Steering and Wheels: Adopts the steering rack and 19-inch High Gloss Dark Carbonized Gray wheels with as-cast graphics from the Mach-E Rally.
  • Tire Specification: Fitted with Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires designed to enhance grip across pavement, gravel, sand, and winter conditions.
  • Exterior Styling: Features a Carbon Black lower front fascia and dedicated Mach-E Trail badging on the center armrest.
  • Power Delivery: Standard 400W Pro Power Onboard includes outlets in the cargo area and rear center console to run small electronic accessories or equipment.

2027 Lineup and Pricing Overview

Model Variant Starting Price (Canada) Key Updates
Mustang Mach-E Select AWD $48,995 CAD Extended-range battery now standard
Mustang Mach-E Trail Package $3,250 CAD (requires Select eAWD) Rally-derived suspension, 19-inch wheels, Michelin tires, 400W Pro Power

Additional Lineup Enhancements

Beyond the new Trail variant, the broader 2027 Mustang Mach-E family benefits from making the extended-range battery standard across the board, offering 88 kWh of usable capacity on Select and Premium models, and 91 kWh on GT and Rally versions. Ford has also introduced a new lower-cost secondary drive unit (front motor) to support pricing. Order banks are open now, with vehicle arrivals anticipated in the first quarter of 2027 in Canada.

What We Still Don't Know

While Canadian pricing, package costs, and rollout timing have been detailed by Ford, final EPA-estimated driving range figures specific to the new 2027 model year configurations have not been officially announced.

AkulRide Verdict

The introduction of the 2027 Ford Mustang Mach-E Trail addresses a practical niche for electric vehicle owners seeking light off-pavement capability without stepping up to higher performance tiers. By combining factory-engineered suspension lifts, Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires, and 400W Pro Power Onboard into a dedicated package for the Canadian market, Ford expands the lifestyle utility of its electric crossover lineup.
