JSW MG Motor India has launched the 2026 MG Hector Storm Series in India, introducing two limited-edition versions of its SUV: the Hector Blackstorm and Hector Snowstorm. Both editions are priced at ₹19,99,800 (ex-showroom) and combine distinctive exterior styling, dark-themed interiors and an edition-specific accessory package offered at no additional cost.

The new editions are available exclusively in a five-seater configuration, powered by the Hector's 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Storm Series focuses on visual changes rather than mechanical upgrades, retaining the existing petrol powertrain and key technology and safety equipment.

2026 MG Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm: What's Different?

The most noticeable difference between the two editions is their exterior finish. The Hector Blackstorm adopts an all-black exterior theme, while the Hector Snowstorm combines a Pearl White body with a Starry Black roof for a contrasting dual-tone appearance.

Both models receive a shared set of dark-themed exterior enhancements designed to give the Hector a more distinctive look. Key styling changes include:

  • A new all-black Storm Hex front grille and front and rear bumper garnishes.
  • Aura Storm Blade alloy wheels paired with red brake calipers.
  • Dark chrome accents on the MG logos, skid plates, tailgate and body-side cladding.
  • Piano-black roof rails and black bezels around the LED headlamps.
  • Smoked connected LED tail lamps.

JSW MG Motor India is also offering a Storm Series accessory package that can be fitted at the dealership at no additional cost. The package includes Blackstorm or Snowstorm badges, a red tailgate accent, fog lamp eye shadows with red accents, outside rear-view mirror (ORVM) protectors with red accents and side step boards.

Interior and Features

The 2026 MG Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm feature a Nimbus Black cabin theme with all-black upholstery, dark interior accents and edition-specific branding embossed on the front headrests. A leather-wrapped steering wheel with gunmetal finish accents completes the interior treatment.

The special editions retain the Hector's 35.56 cm (14-inch) HD portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system, which uses MG's Smart Boost technology for faster processing and improved responsiveness. The system also supports the i-SWIPE touch-gesture interface, allowing drivers to use two- and three-finger gestures to operate functions such as air conditioning, music and navigation.

A 17.78 cm fully digital instrument cluster displays driving information. The connected technology package includes MG's i-SMART system with more than 70 connected-car features, a Digital Bluetooth Key with key-sharing capability, predictive maintenance alerts and remote air-conditioning control.

Other highlighted equipment includes a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, eight-colour ambient lighting, an automatic powered tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, front parking sensors and an air purifier with a PM2.5 filter. The i-SMART app also supports remote control of selected functions, including the air conditioning, audio and ambient lighting.

Engine, Transmission and Safety Features

Both Storm Series editions use the familiar 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 143 PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the front wheels through a CVT automatic transmission.

Unlike a new-generation model or a performance-focused update, the Storm Series does not introduce a different engine or additional power output. Its primary changes concern exterior styling, cabin presentation and the included accessories. JSW MG Motor India has announced the special editions in the five-seater petrol-CVT configuration.

Safety and driver-assistance equipment includes an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) package and a 360-degree HD camera with Wheel View. The listed equipment also includes:

  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).
  • Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
  • Traction Control System (TCS).
  • Hill Hold Control and Brake Assist.

Both editions carry the same announced price and mechanical specifications. The choice between them therefore comes down primarily to the exterior colour treatment and edition-specific styling.

Warranty, Financing and Ownership Benefits

The MG Hector Storm Series is covered by the company's standard MG SHIELD 3+3+3 package. This includes a three-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, three years of roadside assistance and three labour-free periodic services.

Customers can also consider additional ownership coverage through extended warranty, extended roadside assistance and MG's prepaid maintenance Protect Plans.

JSW MG Motor India has announced financing options covering up to 100% of the vehicle's on-road price, with loan tenures of up to 84 months. Financing support of up to 100% is also available for the edition-specific accessories. Actual availability will depend on the applicable financing terms and customer eligibility.

What Buyers Should Know

The Storm Series is primarily a styling-led update to the existing MG Hector range. Buyers receive the special exterior treatment, a dark cabin theme and the dealership-fitted accessory package while retaining the familiar 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and CVT automatic transmission.

The company has not specified the total production numbers for the limited editions in its launch announcement. Buyers interested in these versions should confirm availability, delivery timelines and the applicable on-road price with an authorised MG dealership.

AkulRide Verdict

The 2026 MG Hector Storm Series gives the SUV two distinct visual identities without changing its established powertrain. The Blackstorm targets buyers who prefer an all-black appearance, while the Snowstorm offers a white-and-black contrast. Both versions add red exterior accents, edition-specific cabin details and a complimentary accessory package at an announced ex-showroom price of ₹19,99,800.

The main attraction is the factory-offered special-edition styling rather than a mechanical upgrade. Since both models share the same engine, transmission and five-seat layout, buyers should choose between them based on their preferred design and confirm local availability before booking.
