VIDA Dirt.E K3: An EV Dirt Bike That Grows With Kids
VIDA Dirt.E K3 brings something unusual to India's electric two-wheeler market: a purpose-built electric dirt bike designed for young riders aged 4 to 10 years. More importantly, its adjustable frame means children can grow with the motorcycle instead of quickly outgrowing it.
Powered by Hero MotoCorp's VIDA brand, the Dirt.E K3 is aimed at introducing children to off-road riding in a controlled and progressive manner. It combines a compact electric powertrain with parental controls, multiple riding modes and a size-adjustable chassis.
Key Features of the VIDA Dirt.E K3
The biggest talking point is the motorcycle's three-stage adjustable architecture. Riders can use Small, Medium and Large configurations, with the frame changing height and wheelbase to suit their growth.
- Designed for young riders aged 4 to 10 years
- Three adjustable Small, Medium and Large configurations
- Three riding modes: Beginner, Amateur and Pro
- App-enabled parental controls and speed management
- Magnetic lanyard-based kill switch
- Child-scaled brake lever and impact-absorbing components
- 16-inch spoked wheel and hydraulic rear disc brake
- Removable battery for convenient home charging
The parental-control system is particularly relevant for families. Parents can manage speed limits and riding modes, giving beginners a way to develop their skills progressively rather than immediately accessing the bike's maximum performance.
Engine, Battery and Range
Instead of a conventional petrol engine, the Dirt.E K3 uses an electric motor delivering 350W of continuous power and 500W peak power. Its 360Wh removable lithium-ion battery can be charged at home without requiring a dedicated charging installation.
- Motor: 350W continuous, 500W peak
- Battery: 360Wh removable battery
- Charging: Approximately 3 hours from 0 to 100 percent
- Riding time: Up to 3 hours, depending on terrain and riding mode
- Top speed: 25 km/h in Pro mode
- Ride modes: 8 km/h, 16 km/h and 25 km/h
The official figures focus on riding time rather than a conventional kilometre-based range figure, which makes sense for a children's off-road motorcycle where terrain and riding style can dramatically affect energy consumption.
Pricing and Market Launch
VIDA introduced the Dirt.E K3 at ₹69,990 for the first 300 units. The motorcycle is offered in Red, Purple and White colour options, with expressions of interest opened through the VIDA website.
Retail commenced from January 15, 2026, with the first phase of deliveries planned through select outlets in Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Jaipur and Calicut. The motorcycle is produced at Hero MotoCorp's green manufacturing facility in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
AkulRide Verdict
The VIDA Dirt.E K3 is genuinely different from the usual electric two-wheeler launches. Its strongest idea is not simply the electric powertrain, but the ability to adjust the motorcycle as a young rider grows.
With controlled speeds, parental oversight, a removable battery and dedicated safety features, the Dirt.E K3 could become an interesting entry point into motorcycling for children whose families want a structured off-road experience. It is unlikely to appeal to the mass-market commuter, but for young enthusiasts, it could be a particularly compelling EV.
