Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has introduced the new Toyota Glanza in India with refreshed exterior styling, upgraded cabin features, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a new automatic transmission option for CNG variants. Announced on October 14, 2026, the updated hatchback is priced from Rs 6.99 lakh, ex-showroom.

The new Glanza retains its 1.2-litre petrol engine while introducing Toyota's new-generation Z12E three-cylinder powertrain. Buyers can choose between manual and automated manual transmission (AMT) options, including the newly introduced AMT option for CNG models. Bookings opened on October 15, 2026, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the first week of November.

New Toyota Glanza Gets Updated Exterior Styling

The new Toyota Glanza receives a sportier exterior design inspired by Toyota's global front-end styling. The updated front features a redesigned grille with a wide chrome accent, a more expansive lower grille and a sporty front bumper. Revised side skirts further enhance the hatchback's appearance.

Other exterior features include LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED rear combination lamps, chrome door handles and a floating roof effect. Automatic headlamps with welcome-home lighting and a rear window wiper add to its everyday practicality.

Toyota has also expanded the colour palette to seven options, including two new shades: Bluish Black and Digital Teal Green. The complete colour range comprises Cafe White, Enticing Silver, Gaming Grey, Sportin Red, Insta Blue, Bluish Black and Digital Teal Green.

Interior Features and Technology

The cabin receives several comfort and convenience upgrades, including ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging and a Head-Up Display. The dual-tone interior is complemented by a leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control and rear AC vents.

Other features include tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, steering-mounted controls, a height-adjustable driver's seat, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start, a rear defogger and 60:40 split-folding rear seats. Multiple USB and Type-C charging ports are also provided.

The infotainment system is a 22.86 cm Smart Playcast Pro unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Toyota i-Connect connected-car technology supports features such as remote vehicle access, lock and unlock functions, vehicle health monitoring, safety alerts, geofencing and service-related information. Smartwatch integration and voice-assistance compatibility are also included.

A Clarion premium sound system completes the entertainment package. Equipment availability may vary by grade, as Toyota's announcement does not provide a complete feature-by-feature variant breakdown.

New Toyota Glanza Engine and Performance

The new Toyota Glanza is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine producing 61 kW of power and 112.4 Nm of torque. The petrol version is available with manual and AMT transmission options.

The CNG powertrain produces 51.3 kW and 101.8 Nm of torque. One of the significant updates for the new Glanza is the addition of an AMT gearbox to the CNG range, giving buyers an automatic transmission option alongside the manual version.

Toyota claims fuel efficiency of 23.80 km/l for the petrol manual variant and 24.77 km/l for the petrol AMT variant. These are the figures published in the company's announcement. Separate claimed fuel-efficiency figures for the CNG variants were not specified in the release.

Level 2 ADAS and Safety Features

The introduction of Level 2 ADAS is one of the most significant changes to the new Toyota Glanza. The announced assistance systems include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, Autonomous Emergency Braking and High Beam Assist.

The safety package also includes six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Hold Control and an Emergency Stop Signal. A Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages are also listed.

Additional occupant protection equipment includes front seatbelts with pretensioners and force limiters, seatbelt reminders and three-point seatbelts with Emergency Locking Retractors. Buyers should check the equipment list for their selected grade, as the announcement does not specify the availability of every feature across all variants.

2026 Toyota Glanza Price and Bookings

The new Toyota Glanza has a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 6.99 lakh. Toyota has not provided a complete variant-wise price list in its announcement.

Bookings opened on October 15, 2026, with a booking amount of Rs 11,000. Customers can reserve the hatchback through Toyota's official India website or an authorised Toyota dealership. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in the first week of November 2026.

Warranty and Ownership Benefits

Toyota is offering a standard warranty of three years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first. Customers can extend the warranty up to five years or 220,000 km, subject to the applicable terms.

The ownership package also includes 24-hour roadside assistance and access to Toyota's service network. The company highlights its 60-minute Express Maintenance service and convenient service appointment booking as additional ownership benefits. Financing options are available through Toyota Financial Services and other financial institutions.

What the New Toyota Glanza Means for Buyers

The updated Glanza brings together styling changes, additional comfort equipment and new driver-assistance technology. The CNG AMT option also expands transmission choice for buyers who want a CNG-powered hatchback without a manual gearbox.

However, the published starting price alone does not establish how much the new features cost across the range. A complete variant-wise price list and confirmation of which grades receive the full ADAS package will help buyers make a more precise comparison.

AkulRide Verdict

The new Toyota Glanza is a substantial equipment update for the hatchback, with Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, connected-car features and a revised exterior design among its main highlights. The addition of an AMT option to the CNG range is another practical change that broadens its appeal.

With prices starting at Rs 6.99 lakh, the Glanza continues to target buyers looking for a feature-rich petrol or CNG hatchback. Its appeal will depend on the final variant-wise pricing and the availability of key features across the range. For buyers considering the new model, the upgraded safety technology and expanded transmission choices are the most important developments to evaluate.
