Fiat has presented the Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback family cars at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, marking the brand's return to the larger family-car segment. Both models measure less than 4.5 metres in length, offer 3.5 cubic metres of overall interior space and are planned with petrol, hybrid and fully electric powertrain options. Fiat is targeting a starting price of around €20,000 for the new range.

The European debut forms part of a wider showcase featuring the Multiplina and MULTIPLAY concept cars, the Grande Panda, 500 Cabrio, 600 Sport and Topolino. Fiat's exhibition focuses on accessible mobility, efficient use of interior space and flexible vehicle designs for different customer needs.

The Grizzly family is intended for more than 100 countries across three global regions. European orders are scheduled to open on January 5, 2027, with all announced powertrain options planned to be available from the start. The first international media drive is scheduled for February 2027.

Fiat Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback Focus on Space and Practicality

The standard Grizzly and the more dynamically styled Grizzly Fastback represent Fiat's return to larger family cars. Both models combine compact exterior dimensions with a spacious interior, making efficient packaging a central part of their design.

Fiat quotes a luggage capacity of 545 litres for the Grizzly and 608 litres for the Grizzly Fastback. The company describes the Fastback's boot as the largest in its category among vehicles measuring less than 4.5 metres long.

The two body styles share an emphasis on interior space but cater to different design preferences. The regular Grizzly prioritises a practical family-car layout, while the Fastback introduces a more dynamic silhouette.

At the Paris Motor Show, Fiat displayed both models in the La Prima trim with a 145 hp mild-hybrid powertrain. The production range is planned to include petrol, hybrid and fully electric options, with manual and automatic transmissions available depending on the configuration.

The targeted starting price of approximately €20,000 positions the range towards buyers seeking a relatively accessible family vehicle. This remains a target price rather than a confirmed final retail price for every European market.

Fiat MULTIPLAY Concept Introduces a 3-in-1 Vehicle

One of the main attractions on Fiat's stand is MULTIPLAY, a 4.45-metre concept designed to combine the passenger space of a multi-purpose vehicle, the character of an SUV and the utility of a pickup. Fiat describes it as a laboratory for exploring future mobility solutions rather than a preview of a specific production model.

The concept draws inspiration from the space-efficient Fiat 600 Multipla introduced in 1956 and the Multipla launched in 1998. Both historic models were designed to accommodate six people within relatively compact exterior dimensions.

MULTIPLAY's central innovation is its C-pillar Metamorfosi architecture. A movable rear module allows the vehicle to change from a 6+1-seat family configuration into a four-seat pickup layout with an open cargo bed.

In family mode, the concept accommodates six occupants alongside a modular Petsenger seat. This component can serve as a mounting point for a child seat or become a dedicated space for a pet, a small table or storage.

In pickup mode, four seats remain available while the open rear bed provides space for bicycles, sports equipment and bulky items. The rear spoiler rotates to become an integrated bicycle rack capable of carrying up to two bikes.

Another distinctive feature is the Sunseat, which transforms the front passenger seat into a lounge-style arrangement when the vehicle is parked. The concept also features a panoramic roof and a dashboard display that disappears from view when the vehicle is switched off.

Fiat has used bright green exterior paint inspired by summer and watermelon colours, complemented by red and pink cabin accents. The interior incorporates monomaterial textiles produced using a stitching-free 3D knitting process, while waterproof finishes in areas intended for children and pets support everyday usability.

Fiat Multiplina Concept Explores a Different Approach to Vehicle Space

Alongside MULTIPLAY, Fiat is displaying the Multiplina concept. The two concepts address different aspects of the brand's future mobility strategy, with Multiplina exploring how vehicle space could be reorganised around changing everyday needs.

Fiat believes the Multiplina concept could inspire a new category in the European market. However, the company has not announced a production version, technical specifications or a launch schedule. Its role at the show is to demonstrate alternative approaches to packaging and versatility rather than confirm a future showroom model.

Fiat Reports More Than One Million Global Sales in 2026

Fiat says it has already surpassed one million vehicle sales worldwide in 2026, maintaining its position as Stellantis' leading brand by volume since 2021.

According to the company's figures, Fiat's European performance has increased by 20% compared with the previous year. Registrations in Italy have risen by 19%, while France has recorded a 33% increase since the beginning of 2026.

The brand also reports stronger performance among private buyers, moving up eight positions to enter Europe's top five brands in that category. These are manufacturer-reported figures covering the period up to the Paris Motor Show announcement.

Fiat's current portfolio spans urban mobility vehicles, city cars, compact models and family vehicles. The Grizzly range is intended to extend this coverage into a larger family-car category while retaining the company's focus on accessible pricing and practical design.

Fiat Topolino Showcases Three Distinctive Versions

The Topolino remains an important part of Fiat's urban mobility strategy. The company reports more than 40,000 orders for the electric quadricycle since its launch and identifies it as Europe's current leader in the electric quadricycle market.

Fiat says the Topolino leads the segment in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and France. At the Paris Motor Show, three versions illustrate different approaches to its compact electric format.

  • Topolino Sport: A closed configuration with white exterior paint and red stripes inspired by the 1958 New 500 Sport.
  • Topolino Corallo: A version featuring glass doors and a glass roof.
  • Topolino Dolcevita Verde Vita: An open-top configuration with canvas doors and a canvas cover.

The three versions demonstrate how Fiat is using styling and body variations to broaden the appeal of its small electric vehicle without changing its fundamental urban mobility role.

Grande Panda, 500 Cabrio and 600 Sport Complete the Display

The Grande Panda appears at the show in La Prima trim with a mild-hybrid powertrain and Yellow Bicolor paint. It forms part of Fiat's expanding global model family and brings the Panda name into the B-segment.

The 500 Cabrio La Prima is displayed in Rose Gold. Built at the historic Mirafiori plant in Turin, the model is also linked to upcoming heritage milestones in July 2027. The year will mark 70 years since the original Fiat 500 debuted in 1957 and 20 years since the modern generation was introduced in 2007.

The 600 Sport completes this part of the display with a 145 hp mild-hybrid powertrain and Green Bicolor exterior finish. Together, the three models demonstrate the range of body styles and powertrain choices within Fiat's existing portfolio.

Fiat Grizzly: Launch Timeline and Remaining Details

Fiat has confirmed January 5, 2027, as the planned opening date for European orders for the Grizzly family. All announced powertrain options are scheduled to be available from day one, followed by the first international media drive in February 2027.

The manufacturer has not published a complete market-by-market price list, detailed battery capacities, electric motor outputs for every fully electric configuration or official range figures for the electric versions in this announcement. The targeted starting price of around €20,000 should not be treated as a final price for all variants.

Further information will be needed to establish the precise specifications, charging performance, equipment levels and availability of each version in individual markets. Fiat has also made clear that MULTIPLAY remains a concept and is not a confirmed production vehicle.

AkulRide Verdict

Fiat's Paris Motor Show presentation combines a significant expansion of its family-car ambitions with experiments in flexible vehicle design. The Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback are the most immediate developments, pairing sub-4.5-metre dimensions with luggage capacities of 545 and 608 litres respectively and a planned choice of petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains.

MULTIPLAY offers a more experimental vision, with its convertible family and pickup layouts showing how a single vehicle could serve different needs. Multiplina takes a separate approach to rethinking interior space, while the Topolino and the existing production models demonstrate Fiat's continued focus on different forms of mobility.

The Grizzly range's targeted price of around €20,000 could make it an interesting option in Europe's family-car segment. Its final competitiveness will depend on confirmed pricing, electric range, equipment and market availability. With European orders planned to open on January 5, 2027, further technical information should help establish how the new models fit into Fiat's wider strategy.
