Ducati has expanded its heritage motorcycle lineup in India with the introduction of the new Formula 73, a contemporary urban cafe racer built in a strictly limited run of 873 numbered units. Priced starting at ₹20,00,000 (ex-showroom India), the collector model pays homage to the legendary 1973 750 Super Sport Desmo and the 1972 Imola 200 racing heritage.

The Ducati Formula 73 is powered by the proven 803 cc Desmodue L-twin engine featuring two-valve desmodromic timing and Euro 5+ compliance. The air-cooled motor generates a peak power output of 73 hp at 8,250 rpm and 65.2 Nm of maximum torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a quick shifter as standard.

Design and Heritage Styling

Drawing direct inspiration from the historic 750 Imola Desmo racers, the Formula 73 features a distinctive silver and aquamarine livery accented by a gold band across the fuel tank. This visual cue references the translucent fiberglass fuel windows of early endurance racers.

  • Cockpit Setup: Equipped with clip-on semi-handlebars, bar-end mirrors, a front fairing, and a tapered single-seat tail section.
  • Rizoma Hardware: Features bespoke Rizoma billet aluminium components including brake and clutch levers with fluid reservoirs, footpegs, and a custom fuel cap.
  • Exhaust System: Utilizes a homologated Termignoni Ducati Performance exhaust system finished with custom aesthetic details.
  • Chassis & Wheels: Built on a classic steel trellis frame paired with 17-inch spoked wheels wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires.
