Electric Car zooms from 0 to 100 Km/h in 1.461 seconds in Germany

The Green Team, a team of German students from the German University of Stuttgart broke the Guinness World Record for acceleration after their electric vehicle accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.461 seconds.The team of 20 students achieved this feat with their self built electric racing car on a race track at the Bosch site in Renningen in the district of Boblingen in Baden-Wurttemberg.
The students had been preparing for almost a year. The carbon racing car has the following features:
- Weight: just under 145Kg
- Maximum power output: 180 kW
- Four wheel drive with motors developed at the university
- New high voltage battery
- Power: 1750 hp per ton
- Peak acceleration of 2.5g (almost equal to the force experienced by the astronauts when a rocket re-enters the Earth’s atmosphere)

Volkswagen has decided to work with Intel’s Mobileye to work on automated driving, after VW decided to stop investing in Argo AI, a self driving startup.VW has a software unit Cariad which presently works with Mobileye already.VW has plans to lauch a robotaxi service by the year 2025.
