Aveta Motor Malaysia's Nova 250 combines a 244.3 cc liquid-cooled engine with dual-channel ABS, traction control and a built-in front dashcam, targeting riders who want more technology and practicality from a mid-capacity scooter. The model is available in Malaysia, where its updated colour lineup includes Titan Red and the limited-edition Nordic Blue.

Designed for urban commuting and longer road journeys, the Nova 250 features automatic CVT transmission, a 7-inch TFT display with screen mirroring and a 12-litre fuel tank. Its equipment list also includes keyless operation, dual USB charging ports and under-seat storage.

Aveta Nova 250 Engine and Performance

The Aveta Nova 250 is powered by a 244.3 cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with liquid cooling, a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) and four valves. Bosch electronic fuel injection manages fuel delivery.

According to Aveta's published specifications, the engine produces 19.4 kW (25.5 hp) at 8,250 rpm and 23 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The compression ratio is 11.5:1.

The engine is paired with an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) and belt drive, eliminating the need for manual gear changes. An electric starter is standard.

This configuration is suited to riders who prefer the convenience of an automatic scooter for everyday traffic while retaining the performance potential of a larger-displacement engine for faster roads. Actual fuel economy and riding range have not been specified in the official product details.

Chassis, Suspension and Braking

The Nova 250 uses a hydraulic telescopic fork at the front and dual gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. It runs on a 14-inch front wheel with a 120/70-14 tyre and a 13-inch rear wheel with a 130/70-13 tyre.

Braking hardware consists of single disc brakes at both ends. The front brake uses an opposed four-piston caliper, while the rear has an opposed two-piston caliper.

Aveta lists ABS and a traction control system (TCS) as part of the scooter's braking and safety equipment. The dual-channel ABS helps reduce the risk of wheel lock during hard braking, while traction control is intended to help manage rear-wheel slip under acceleration. These systems support rider control but cannot eliminate the risks associated with slippery or uneven road surfaces.

7-Inch TFT Display and Built-In Dashcam

Technology is a major part of the Nova 250's equipment package. The cockpit features a 7-inch TFT LCD display with screen-mirroring functionality, allowing compatible smartphone content to be mirrored on the instrument screen.

The scooter also comes with a built-in front-facing dashcam, an unusual feature in this category. The integrated camera provides a way to record footage from the front of the scooter without relying on a separately mounted aftermarket camera. Aveta highlights this feature as an additional convenience for everyday riding.

Other equipment includes:

  • Full-LED lighting with a gradually illuminated headlamp feature
  • Bosch tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
  • Keyless operation
  • Illuminated handlebar switches
  • Type-A and Type-C USB charging ports

The combination of rider-assistance systems, digital instrumentation and recording technology gives the Nova 250 a broader feature set than a basic commuter scooter. However, the availability of particular screen-mirroring functions may depend on device compatibility.

Dimensions, Ground Clearance and Storage

The Aveta Nova 250 measures 1,975 mm in length, 780 mm in width and 1,243 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 1,360 mm, while the seat height is 774 mm. Ground clearance is listed at 202 mm.

The scooter has a kerb weight of 165 kg and a maximum loading capacity of 150 kg. Its 12-litre fuel tank is intended to reduce the frequency of refuelling stops, although the actual distance between stops will depend on riding conditions and fuel consumption.

Practicality is supported by a 20-litre under-seat storage compartment, according to Aveta's launch announcement. This space can accommodate everyday belongings and selected riding essentials, although storage suitability depends on the size and shape of the items carried.

Aveta Nova 250 Price and Colours in Malaysia

Aveta announced the Nova 250 in October 2025 with a retail selling price of RM14,388, excluding road tax and insurance. In January 2026, the company introduced two additional colour options: Titan Red and Nordic Blue.

The Titan Red version carries a retail price of RM14,388, excluding road tax and insurance. Nordic Blue is a limited-edition version restricted to 688 numbered units nationwide, with a stated retail price of RM14,888, excluding road tax and insurance.

The Nordic Blue edition also features a sporty aluminium handlebar and special Aveta logo decals. Availability and final on-road costs should be confirmed with an authorised Malaysian dealer.

Is the Aveta Nova 250 Coming to India?

The Nova 250 is listed in Aveta Motor Malaysia's official product range and is marketed for the Malaysian market. The official information referenced for this article does not confirm a launch in India, the UK, Australia, Canada or other international markets.

Buyers outside Malaysia should therefore not assume that the scooter will be introduced locally. Pricing, homologation, dealer support and market-specific equipment would need to be confirmed separately for any future international launch.

AkulRide Verdict

The Aveta Nova 250 stands out through its combination of a 25.5 hp engine, automatic transmission, dual-channel ABS, traction control and factory-fitted front dashcam. Its 7-inch TFT display, TPMS, keyless operation and 20-litre under-seat storage add further everyday convenience.

For Malaysian riders considering a larger automatic scooter, the Nova 250 offers a technology-focused alternative with useful practical features. Its appeal will ultimately depend on real-world fuel economy, comfort, handling and local after-sales support. For now, its confirmed market positioning remains Malaysia, with no official international launch announcement established by the cited product information.
