Jeep India has sold out all 25 units of the Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition allocated for the Indian market ahead of its launch. Priced at Rs 73.55 lakh (ex-showroom), the limited-edition off-road SUV combines the Wrangler Rubicon's established 4x4 capability with exclusive styling inspired by Jeep's heritage.

Announced on 13 October 2026, the sell-out comes during Jeep India's 10th anniversary year. The Whitecap Edition is part of a limited global offering comprising 250 vehicles, with Indian customers accounting for 25 units. Deliveries are scheduled to begin through authorised Jeep dealerships by the end of October 2026.

Jeep Wrangler Whitecap Edition: What Makes It Special?

The Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition draws inspiration from the classic Jeep CJ-Universal, particularly its distinctive Arctic White roof. The special edition reinterprets this heritage design detail through a contrasting white roof and grille, paired with an exclusive exterior colour.

The SUV is available exclusively in Mojito Green, giving it a distinctive appearance compared with the regular Wrangler Rubicon. Its key exterior highlights include:

  • Mojito Green exterior: The exclusive body colour gives the limited-edition SUV a bright, distinctive appearance.
  • Bright White hardtop: The contrasting white roof is the defining visual feature of the Whitecap Edition.
  • Bright White grille: The seven-slot front grille receives matching white detailing.
  • Heritage graphics: Whitecap branding and 1941 side decals reference Jeep's historic design identity and the year associated with the original Willys MB.
  • White 4 Wheel Drive decal: The tailgate receives an additional graphic that reinforces the SUV's off-road character.

These changes focus on appearance and exclusivity rather than introducing a different mechanical specification. The Whitecap Edition retains the core hardware of the Wrangler Rubicon, making its distinctive styling the principal reason to choose this version.

Engine and Off-Road Equipment

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 272 hp and 400 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system.

Its off-road equipment includes a heavy-duty Dana 44 HD full-float rear axle, electronic locking differentials at the front and rear, and an electronic front sway-bar disconnect. The Rubicon also features a Rock-Trac four-wheel-drive system, 17-inch alloy wheels and dedicated off-road hardware designed for demanding terrain.

The Whitecap Edition does not introduce a new engine or a separate performance upgrade over the Rubicon. Instead, it combines the existing model's mechanical capability with exclusive exterior details and a small number of additional cabin features.

Cabin Features and Technology

Inside, the Whitecap Edition adds a built-in dashboard camera and reinforced grab handles. Other equipment is carried over from the Wrangler Rubicon, including a 12.3-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system, powered front seats and advanced driver-assistance features.

The standard Wrangler Rubicon's equipment also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with safety and convenience features intended for everyday driving. The Whitecap treatment therefore focuses on distinctive design and selected practical additions rather than a comprehensive cabin redesign.

Jeep India Considers a Possible Future Return

Kumar Priyesh, Business Head and Director of Automotive Brands at Stellantis India, said the response to the Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition demonstrated the strong connection Indian customers have with the Jeep brand. He described the vehicle as a limited-production collector's edition created for buyers who value distinctive styling and exclusivity.

Priyesh also said the company was encouraged by the response and was exploring how it might bring this distinctive interpretation of the Wrangler back to India in the future. However, Jeep India has not announced a confirmed plan, additional allocation or timeline for another batch.

The company said the first 25 vehicles would remain a particularly exclusive part of the Whitecap Edition's story. Buyers who secured one of the Indian units will also be part of the global group of 250 Whitecap owners.

Price and Delivery Timeline

At Rs 73.55 lakh (ex-showroom), the Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition is positioned as a premium alternative to the standard Rubicon. With the entire Indian allocation already sold, customers interested in this particular edition will need to wait for any further announcement from Jeep India.

Deliveries are expected to commence through authorised dealerships by the end of October 2026. Although the company has indicated that a future return is being explored, a second allocation should not be considered confirmed until Jeep makes an official announcement.

AkulRide Verdict

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition brings a distinctive heritage-inspired identity to an already capable off-road SUV. Its Mojito Green paintwork, Bright White roof and grille, and exclusive graphics give it a clear visual identity, while the familiar Rubicon mechanical package preserves its core appeal for off-road enthusiasts.

The sell-out of all 25 Indian units ahead of launch highlights demand for exclusive, limited-production SUVs among Jeep customers. At Rs 73.55 lakh (ex-showroom), the Whitecap Edition's appeal rests primarily on its rarity, styling and additional equipment rather than a substantial mechanical upgrade. With deliveries due by the end of October 2026, attention will now turn to customer handovers and whether Jeep India eventually decides to offer this special edition again.
